About Your Safety Alert Seat

ABOUT YOUR SAFETY ALERT SEAT

Available Safety Alert Seat, if equipped, will automatically pulse the left, right or both sides of the driver seat to identify the direction of a potential crash so the driver can quickly take action. You can also switch to beeping crash avoidance alerts.

HOW IT WORKS

Small motors inside the seat will generate vibrations on the left, right or both sides of the bottom of the driver seat cushion when prompted by select Driver Assistance Technologies (see below). Along with visual alerts, these vibrations help indicate the direction of certain detected threats or a situation that might require your attention.

EXAMPLES OF DRIVER ASSISTANCE TECHNOLOGIES THAT ACTIVATE THE SAFETY ALERT SEAT

Here are some of the available features that can activate Safety Alert Seat. Please note your vehicle may not have one or more of these features.

  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert — Pulses the left or right side of the seat to indicate the direction of approaching cross traffic when in Reverse
  • Forward Collision Alert — Pulses both sides of the seat to warn of a possible collision with an object in front of the vehicle
  • Rear Park Assist — Pulses both sides of the seat to warn of a possible collision with an object behind the vehicle

Note: The types of alerts available vary by vehicle model.
