About the In-vehicle Off-Road App

ABOUT THE IN-VEHICLE OFF-ROAD APP

The standard in-vehicle Off-Road App on your infotainment screen lets you explore and monitor the off-road capabilities of your GMC HUMMER EV models. You can view details about things such as the vehicle’s pitch/roll angle, compass bearing, drift angle, suspension travel and more, depending on how your vehicle is equipped.

Explore Off-Road Widgets

You’ll find multiple tools, also known as widgets, in the Off-Road App. Here’s an introduction to what each widget can show you. Refer to your Owner’s Manual for important information before you drive your vehicle off road.

FORCE G+ DRIFT

This gauge displays the vehicle’s acceleration along with the drift angle (e.g., how far the tail of the vehicle is kicked out) during aggressive scenarios, such as low-traction driving or during a power slide. It also shows the Max Drift and Max G-Force values you’ve achieved.

CHASSIS

This widget shows your steering angle in degrees. As your steering angle changes, you can watch the front and rear tires on the screen tilt left or right to correspond with the angle.

Additionally, it will show whether the axle lockers are locked or unlocked. Tires will glow a different color if they’re slipping due to low traction.

TORQUE OUTPUT

This graphic gives you a real-time display of the vehicle’s torque output, as it correlates to the peak available torque for your specific vehicle build.

RIDE HEIGHT

This graphic represents the vehicle’s position as the suspension is raised or lowered. The graphic will blink to show a real-time change as you enter a different ride height mode.

TORQUE VECTORING

This gauge shows you how torque is being distributed at each wheel, front/back and left/right, adjusting in real time as conditions and traction change.

ATTITUDE GAUGE

Inspired by the attitude gauge of aircraft, this gauge combines the vehicle’s pitch and roll into a real-time 3D animation. It is designed to give you an idea of how the vehicle is positioned as if you were standing outside of it. It also displays your Max Pitch and Max Roll values.

ALTIMETRE GAUGE

The altimetre gauge displays your current elevation. The left side of the gauge indicates the altitude in thousands (it will move slowly), while the right indicates the altitude in hundreds (it will move quickly). This gauge also remembers the lowest and highest values you’ve achieved, which can be reset using the RESET button in the top right corner.

COMPASS

The compass gauge shows your direction of travel and, if you have a destination programmed into your navigation system, the GPS coordinates of your destination will appear on the compass as well. This may be useful for finding a campsite or trailhead when off-roading.

WHEEL TRAVEL

This graphic shows the position of the vehicle’s wheels and tires at all four corners, moving up and down to indicate their up-and-down movement as the vehicle traverses over different terrain. The gauge offers a real-world representation of your wheel travel, but the graphics magnify the movement so you can see it better. It gives you an idea of how close you are to the wheel’s up and down movement capability.

TIRE PRESSURE

This graphic shows you the real-time tire pressure of each of your tires (excludes spare tire), with changing status to indicate an over- or under-inflated tire.
